Fall is here and film-festival season has just begun! From September 7th to September 17th film aficionados will be in and out of screenings. This 10-day star studded affair will see international celebrities touch down in our very own district. Keep reading for 5 things to do at TIFF.
Festival Street
Come celebrate TIFF in the streets! There will be a pedestrian street closing from Peter to University Avenue on King St from September 7-10th. Toronto Entertainment District Visitors will be able to stroll about the street and visit marketing activations, eat some delicious treats and listen to live music. Learn more here.
Star Sighting
Are you ready for the red carpet? Fans flock to Roy Thomson Hall Hall during Gala Nights to catch glimpses of their favourite stars as they walk the red carpet. Princess of Whales’ gates are usually rushed as celebrities arrive in black cars to enter their screenings. Be sure to watch the social media flurry so you can see how to grab a selfie with your celebrity crush.
Watch a Foreign Film
Foreign language films are a staple at the film festival. The international perspective displayed across the screens are often heralded at TIFF. Many have left with rave reviews and awarded with prestigious titles. This year, “Thelma” and “First They Killed My Father” are claimed to be must-see films in this genre’s circuit.
