Table 6ix is back for Season 2—starting strong with Elie Chivi, Executive Director of the Inside Out Toronto 2SLGBTQ+ Film Festival. Elie joins us to reflect on 35 years of bold queer storytelling and the power of film to inspire, connect, and transform.
Inside Out has been a cultural force since 1991, creating space for 2SLGBTQ+ filmmakers and audiences to celebrate stories that challenge norms and centre queer voices. Elie brings deep insight into the festival’s evolution, the significance of this year’s theme—“All In: Unlocking Queer Cinema Since 1991”—and how movies truly saved his life.
He shares what’s ahead for the 2025 festival, from premieres to underground gems, and speaks to the importance of keeping queer spaces in Toronto loud, political, and unapologetic. He also takes part in two signature Table 6ix segments—Quick Bites and Love Letter to Toronto—offering a personal and passionate take on the city, the films that shaped him, and what keeps him inspired.
