Toronto Police Launches New Safety Initiative
Project Magnify is a three-month pilot that started on August 1, 2024, aimed at increasing police visibility in several Toronto neighbourhoods. Officers in Divisions 14, along with the Public Safety Response Team, will wear “Guardian Angel” lights on their uniforms. Police vehicles will also have the ability to activate static red and blue lights on their rooftop light bars to enhance visibility. This initiative aims to improve officer safety, deter criminal activity, and create more opportunities for community engagement, ultimately fostering trust and stronger relationships with residents.
