ADFF Toronto Brings Architecture and Design Films to TIFF Lightbox

POSTED ON November 5, 2025 BY Nadine Macandog

Architecture and design fans, this one’s for you. The Architecture and Design Film Festival (ADFF) is returning to TIFF Lightbox from November 12 to 15, 2025. For four days, the festival will celebrate the creativity and ideas that shape our cities through film, conversation, and community.

Now in its 16th year, ADFF is the world’s largest festival dedicated to architecture and design. This year’s Toronto edition will feature 13 films from around the world, each exploring how design influences culture, identity, and the spaces we call home.

Some of the must-see films include:

  • Identity: A Czech Graphic Design Love Story (2024), a look at how national design tells a country’s story.
  • The Space Architect (2025), an emotional portrait of NASA architect Constance Adams and her legacy.
  • Changing Lanes (2025), a behind-the-scenes view of New York City’s bike lane movement.

In addition, each screening will be followed by panel discussions hosted by the Toronto Society of Architects (TSA). These talks bring together architects, designers, and experts to connect the films’ themes to Toronto’s own design story.

This year also introduces a new event — The Big Brutal Quiz. It’s a free trivia night all about brutalist architecture in film. Expect movie clips, iconic buildings, and a few fun surprises.
