A new café has arrived in Toronto’s Downtown West, offering a calm space where coffee, design, and simplicity meet. The Coffee, a global brand born in Brazil and inspired by Japanese minimalism, is now open — bringing craftsmanship and comfort to the heart of the city.
A Global Concept Rooted in Simplicity
Brothers Carlos, Alexandre, and Luis Fertonani founded The Coffee in 2018 in Curitiba, Brazil. Their vision was clear: blend Japan’s quiet coffee culture with Brazil’s love for flavor and hospitality. The first café measured only three square metres, yet it sparked a movement. Today, The Coffee operates across Europe, Asia, and the Americas — and now, Toronto joins that growing list.
Elevated Coffee and Thoughtful Design
Inside, the design feels calm and deliberate. Clean lines, warm tones, and soft lighting create a peaceful backdrop that lets the coffee shine. Every cup features specialty beans from around the world, brewed with precision and consistency. Each drink celebrates flavor, texture, and balance.

Signatures and Seasonal Highlights
The menu keeps things simple but satisfying. Try the Nutty Latte, Ichigo Matcha, or True White — all customer favorites. Seasonal creations like the Tiramisu Latte and Pumpkin Iced Latte add warmth to chilly days. To complete your visit, pair your drink with a Pistachio Croissant or Banana Cake, baked fresh each morning.
