Looking for free things to do in Toronto this summer? Toronto Downtown West is bringing together a season of outdoor events, live music, movies, wellness activities, and community experiences from June through September.
Whether you’re exploring the city with friends, spending time with family, or looking for ways to enjoy Toronto’s public spaces, these free summer events offer something for everyone.
Summer Kick-Off at The Deck
Kick off the summer season at The Deck in Clarence Square Park with three days of free programming, live music, and community activities in the heart of Downtown Toronto.
Dates & Times: June 11 (5 p.m. to 9 p.m.), June 12 (12 p.m. to 9 p.m.), June 13 (9 a.m. to 9 p.m.)
Visitors can enjoy live music throughout the weekend, while June 13 also features a free WellnessTO yoga class from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.
DoggieFest Toronto at Roundhouse Park
Dog lovers won’t want to miss Doggie Fest Toronto, returning to Roundhouse Park for a day dedicated to dogs and their humans.
Date & Time: June 14, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
This free event brings together pet-friendly activities, vendors, entertainment, and opportunities for dogs to socialize and play.
Summer Music Series at The Deck
Enjoy free live music in Downtown Toronto all summer long at The Deck in Clarence Square Park.
Dates: Thursdays and Fridays, running until September 25, 2026
Time: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The Summer Music Series showcases local artists and emerging performers, making it the perfect after-work destination in the city.
Chess in the Park at The Deck
Players of all skill levels are invited to participate in Chess in the Park, a free monthly community chess event hosted at The Deck.
Dates: June 20, July 18, August 15, September 19
Time: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Whether you’re a seasoned player or learning the game, Chess in the Park offers a welcoming outdoor space to connect with fellow enthusiasts.
Movies in the Park at David Pecaut Square
Spend summer evenings under the Toronto skyline with free outdoor movie screenings at David Pecaut Square.
Dates: June 24, July 1, July 8, July 15, July 22, July 29 (Rain Date: August 5)
Time: 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy a night of film, entertainment, and community in one of Downtown Toronto’s most iconic public spaces.
