We have been notified that a crane hoist is planned for this weekend at the CBC building (250 Front St. West) to move mechanical equipment to the roof. A mobile crane will be set up on Front Street just east of John Street.
Work will begin on Friday night, January 12, at 10 pm and continue nightly until 5 am on Monday, January 15.
From the start of work on Friday to the end of work on Monday, Front Street between John and Simcoe will be reduced to a single westbound lane of traffic. Eastbound traffic will be redirected via John, Wellington, and Simcoe. Both sidewalks on Front Street will remain open during the day but there will be periodic stoppage of pedestrian movement on the north sidewalk while hoisting is in progress overnight.
Three police officers will be on site during hoisting to safely direct pedestrians and vehicles. Notice has been provided to adjacent property owners, businesses, and street vendors.
