On April 3, 2018, the new replacement for the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB), the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT), began hearing appeals of new zoning by-law and official plan amendments.

On May 8th a meeting was held to discuss the role of the new Toronto Local Appeal Body (TLAB) where former appeals to the OMB regarding s. 45 (variances) and s.53 (consents) of the Planning Act are now heard.
