8 MICHELIN Guide Restaurants to Try in Toronto Downtown West

September 23, 2026

Looking for your next dinner reservation? The 2026 MICHELIN Guide has plenty of inspiration right here in Toronto Downtown West.

Eight restaurants across the neighbourhood made this year’s Guide, from a Bib Gourmand taco spot on Adelaide to Thai favourites, Jamaican comfort food, Indian cuisine and some of the city’s most sought-after dining rooms.

Whether you’re planning date night, dinner with friends or just looking for somewhere new to try, here are eight MICHELIN-recognized restaurants to add to your list.

Campechano

504 Adelaide St. W. | Bib Gourmand

Come for the tacos, stay for another round. Campechano keeps its menu focused on what it does best: fresh tortillas made daily with heirloom corn sourced from Mexico and filled with everything from smoky barbacoa to crispy beer-battered haddock.

It’s the only restaurant on our list with a Bib Gourmand, MICHELIN’s distinction for restaurants serving great food at a great value.

What to try: Barbacoa tacos, beer-battered haddock tacos and sautéed mushrooms with double-smoked bacon and chili oil.

PUNCH

30 Mercer St. | MICHELIN Selected

British pub food meets Indian flavours at PUNCH, tucked inside Le Germain Hotel Toronto Mercer. Think familiar comfort food with an unexpected twist, from a Scotch egg made with kebab-spiced pork to beef Wellington, biryani and samosas.

What to try: Scotch egg, grilled seabream and saffron pulao basmati rice.

Chubby’s Jamaican Kitchen

104 Portland St. | MICHELIN Selected

A little taste of the Caribbean on Portland Street. Chubby’s is the kind of place to go when you’re craving something comforting, with Jamaican classics like curry goat, oxtail stew and saltfish fritters filling the menu.

And then there’s the jerk chicken, cooked over a wood-burning grill for that smoky, sweet and spicy combination.

What to try: Jerk chicken, curry goat and saltfish fritters.

Kiin

326 Adelaide St. W. | MICHELIN Selected

Dinner at Kiin is as much about what you see as what you taste. Chef Nuit Regular’s take on royal Thai cuisine arrives in colourful, intricately presented dishes, from flower-shaped dumplings to whole sea bream wrapped and grilled in banana leaf.

If it’s your first visit, MICHELIN recommends going for the signature chef’s tasting menu to experience a little bit of everything.

What to try: Chef’s tasting menu, whole sea bream and lobster pad Thai.

Aanch

259 Wellington St. W. | MICHELIN Selected

If Indian food is calling your name, head to Wellington Street. Aanch’s menu travels through different regions of India with everything from Chennai-style Chicken 65 to fiery Goan vindaloo.

There are plenty of familiar favourites here too, including rich dal bukhari, aloo gobi and garlic naan.

What to try: Chicken 65, dal bukhari and garlic naan.

Aloette

163 Spadina Ave. | MICHELIN Selected

Aloette takes the classic diner and gives it a polished Toronto twist. The narrow Spadina Avenue space feels casual, but the food is anything but ordinary.

The burger has become a favourite, but save room for dessert. Their towering lemon meringue pie is practically a destination of its own.

What to try: Aloette burger, iceberg wedge and lemon meringue pie.

SARA

98 Portland St. | MICHELIN Selected

Hidden inside an A-frame house on Portland Street, SARA feels like a little escape from the city without actually leaving King West.

The menu changes with the seasons and pulls inspiration from around the world, making its tasting menu a great option when you’d rather leave the decisions to the kitchen. When the weather cooperates, the greenery-filled backyard patio makes the experience even better.

What to try: The tasting menu, with longtime favourites like the butternut squash latkes and wagyu reuben making appearances.

PAI

18 Duncan St. | MICHELIN Selected

You’ve probably seen the line, and there’s a reason for it. PAI has become one of Toronto’s go-to spots for Thai food, with Chef Nuit Regular bringing family recipes and street food favourites to the heart of Downtown West.

The menu is extensive, but the Northern Thai dishes are a great place to start. The khao soi, with noodles in a rich coconut milk curry, is one of the signatures.

What to try: Khao soi, kung tawt and gaeng panang.
