POSTED ON September 16, 2025 BY Nadine Macandog

Toronto’s west end has a bold new BBQ destination. The team behind The Carbon Bar has launched The Carbon Snack Bar, a fast-casual spin on their popular restaurant. The new spot opened on August 25 inside the landmark 460 King Street West building. It blends rich history with everyday flavour.

A Historic Location

Built in 1873, the space has seen many lives. It began as the Richardson House, later transformed into the legendary Cabana Room where The Rolling Stones and Leonard Cohen once performed. It then became the Spadina Hotel, a staple in the city. Now, it enters a new chapter as home to The Carbon Snack Bar.

Food, Drinks & More

The Carbon Snack Bar is designed for daily life. Stop in for coffee, grab a quick lunch, or stock up for the weekend. The menu includes BBQ bowls with brisket, pastrami, or St. Louis ribs. Guests will also find fresh salads, sandwiches, and breakfast favourites for busy mornings.

House-made sides like Mac & Cheese and Pork & Beans bring extra comfort. For something sweet, Craig’s Cookies are on offer. Drinks range from espresso and craft beer to curated wines and bottled cocktails. The retail counter makes it easy to bring the flavours home, with smoked meats, ready-to-heat sides, and signature sauces and spices.

Everyday Hospitality

“It’s a dream to bring The Carbon Bar experience to this iconic building,” says founder Yannick Bigourdan. “We’re offering the same dedication to quality and hospitality, but in a format that fits seamlessly into people’s daily routines.”

With bright, colourful interiors, 35 indoor seats, and a large patio, The Carbon Snack Bar fits right into one of Toronto’s most vibrant neighbourhoods. It’s set to become a new local favourite.
