Member Opportunity to Showcase Events

In an effort to promote the diversity of experiences in our community, the BIA is working with Now Playing Toronto on the incorporation of a new events calendar. This calendar provides an opportunity for members to have their events highlighted on NowPlayingToronto.com, DestinationToronto.com, NOWToronto.com, YourExperienceAwaits.ca, and more.

The Now Playing Toronto Database powers NowPlayingToronto.com and captures the most comprehensive and robust events calendar. It extends information about things to do in Toronto to a wider audience through the syndication of data feeds to a network of event calendars. This creates a more streamlined process for promoters by reducing the time and effort to promote shows and events while also maintaining a higher level of accuracy.

We encourage members to sign up for an account at NowPlayingToronto.com.To do so, click “Submit A Listing” at the top of the page.

If you want more information or have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Hayley James.

City’s Circular Food Innovators Fund

The Circular Food Innovators Fund aims to support local small businesses (both for-profit and not-for-profit) in the delivery of projects that will make progress toward eliminating single-use and takeaway items in Toronto and achieving a more circular food system.

The Fund offers grant funding starting at $5,000 and up to a maximum of $35,000 for eligible projects that implement or expand reuse systems by incorporating the use of reusable foodservice ware, such as reusable takeout containers, and investing in the systems that support their ongoing use.

The City will host two information sessions to review the program goals, eligibility criteria and important dates and answer questions about the Fund on January 25 and February 13. Register here. Applications are being accepted until February 27.
