Toronto International Film Festival

Date: September 7 – 17, 2023

Locations: Various locations throughout the area

Road Closure: September 5 – 19, 2023

The 48th Toronto International Film Festival runs from September 7 – 17, 2023. Associated events will result in partial lane restrictions as well as full road closures between September 5 – 19, 2023. Full road closures of TIFF’s Festival Street will run from September 7 – 11 along King St to University St westbound to Peter St. Partial lane closures will continue throughout the duration of TIFF from September 5 – 19.

The footprint of TIFF falls in our BIA and we encourage all members to make necessary preparations. TIFF attracts large crowds to the area and we encourage businesses to prepare accordingly.

Noise Bylaw Review

The City of Toronto is reviewing the successes and challenges of implementing the Noise Bylaw to assess the bylaw amendments made in 2019 and consider proposed refinements. Members can share their feedback on the bylaw and their experience with the implementation at six virtual and in-person public consultations from September 12 to September 21. Each consultation will focus on a particular type of noise in the bylaw and will be facilitated by a public consultation firm.

Toronto Night Economy Review

The City will be hosting two virtual meetings to gain insights and feedback on how bars, restaurants, and other entertainment venues – including nightclubs – are defined, licensed and zoned in Toronto. This event requires registration.
